wahey havent updated in a while....erm been out most weekends to zoobar met loadsa new people slept at nicks (random 18yr old guy :s) emma pocketed a loada bombey mix when she was pissed and then woke up in the morning and was like 'wtf is this shit in my bag' haha was so funny! got fake blood poured on meh and had a chocoltae fight....erm went to pizza hut and got like a million balloons and nick bought us a loada pizza :D we ate like 5 pieces out of 2 massive pizzas and emma wanted to go give them to hobos but nicks mates came so we ended up giveing the pizza to hot(ish) emo guys insteada bums haha. emma walked round town with man briefs on haha and she had her phone in her phone and it looked like she had a cock harhar god were all so immature wee xxx

well.... last night rocked first we caught a bus into Hebden and met becci in her ice cream van. Waited a while and ate icecream and stuff and attempted to rock beccis van over, no luck tho im afraid :( then we were gonna get a lift with becci back to the factory but the stupid man refused so we were stranded in hebden, so we went and sat on the little park for a while. We heard a load of shouting and jeni was like 'oh god all the knob heads are comin' and i was like no that really sounds like joe. and adam, micah and joe came round the corner then we were in toms and then we were firing potatoes at little kids and at houses then we all had to dive into toms house cos we hit a window with the potatoe. Then after this we went back into hebden only to stumble across a load of stupid girls who were like 10 and all pissed and talking poo. sat around the surgery fo a while joe got covered in vandal grease lol and then we walked places and smoked weed and drank really horrid beer which tasted like perfume, then went up to beccis and played spin the bottle and i had to kiss mark. :( then we watched 'saw' which was funny and i drank lager and slept and woke up to some guy stroking my feet which scared me cos he was doin it for like 2 hours. cnt be arsed writing more bubi xoxoxoxo

Report 2b Introduction In this report I am going to explain all the different hard ware and soft ware systems in the operations department. Within this department I am going to look at (in detail) how tesco use their barcode system. Hardware and software- computer hardware is the individual physical components that make up a computer. There is a rule that, if you touch it is a piece of hardware. Computer software is software programs that control the use of hardware and the flow of data into a computer. Software is something you cannot touch. For example they control: • Central processing unit (CPU) time • The allocation and use of memory • The allocation and use of disk space • The operating of peripheral devices i.e. printers, keyboard, mouse, scanner etc The OS is the foundation on which the application software (word, publisher etc) is built on. You can give instructions to the Operating System to give you control over what the computer does i.e. loading, saving, opening, printing, calculating etc Output devices are the devices that display data/information in soft or hard copy. Storage devices are what stores all the data or information that is put into a computer. A processor is the most important part of a computer, it consists of: 1. Central processing unit 2. Motherboard 3. Port 4. Storage 5. Modem 6. Network card Hardware I have chosen the operations department and I am going to describe the hardware and software that the bar-coding system uses. The items I have listed are the pieces of hardware that are used in this department. • Scanners- This piece of hardware is used to scan products, once the barcode on the item is scanned then the price will instantly appear on the till. This speeds up the purchasing process. This piece of hardware is an input device. By having barcode scanners, Tesco can speed up the rate of people purchasing, tesco managers can also look at tills etc. to see how many products have been purchased (when the scanners transfer the product prices into the till). • Receipt printer- This piece of hardware is an out put device. The job of the receipt printer is to print a receipt that the till has asked it to. The barcode scanner will give the name and the prices of the product and then this information will be sent to the receipt printer and it will then be printed out. • Keyboard-This piece of hardware is an input device. The purpose if the keyboard is to type various information into the till e.g. if when the barcode does not show up on the till then the prices can be typed in, also weights of various food items can be typed in. This is a lot easier than who ever is working on the till having to remember every price. • Till screen (VDU) - This piece of hardware is an output device. The till screen shoes exactly how much each item costs, so the customer knows that the customers know for definite that they are not getting ripped off. Also the till screen adds up the total amount of the all the items purchased so the cashier can easily and quickly tell the customer the total amount of the entire shopping. • Network cable- This people of hardware, it connects all the tills in the supermarket to the network.
